The Stickl Team-The guarantor for fun and success

Since 1976, one team has been passing on its experience to the next. New employees are trained into a proven team in good time so that they are then fit for the "changing of the guard". In this way, each team grows with the experience of the "old ones".

Permanent Team Trainings and active participation in the design of the processes also contribute to the fact that simply everyone masters their job perfectly.
The technical skills in surfing, kitesurfing and sailing are of course constantly improved by the possibility to train in optimal wind conditions.
Team training sessions and daily briefings guarantee a uniform system and contents of the courses.

BENJI

It is well known that a large part of the Netherlands lies below sea level, so a true Dutchman must either be a good swimmer or be able to sail and windsurf.
Tacking and jibing were clearly more appealing to me than crawling and treading water, so I learned to master the boat and board from an early age.
Following the tradition of the great seafaring nation, I left the coasts of Friesland behind me, cruised on the North Sea, the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea, as an instructor and school director in clubs and water sports stations and now anchor at Lake Garda since 2015.
Already in the fifth year I call the bay of Val di Sogno my home port and since then I sail under the flag STICKL Sportcamp.
Over 30 years ago I discovered my enthusiasm for sharing the knowledge of wind, waves and water with generations of water sports students.
With passion I teach catamaran sailing and windsurfing from entry to perfection. Of course, as a certified VDWS windsurfing cat and sailing instructor with station manager qualification. And I spin my sailor yarn in five and a half languages.

Pro-tip: "Anluven is not a permanent condition!"

Sailing and cat sailing

I am a real "Stickler" and repeat offender for over 11 years. I have a DSV sailing coach license and have been sailing for 24 years, formerly as an active regatta sailor in the Laser. Today I enjoy foiling on my Waszp and part-time again and again as a sailing instructor on Dyas and Seascape.

Since a few years I am also a passionate kitesurfer.

I'm a sucker for anything foiling and pulpo!

Kitesurfing

I started kiting 20 years ago and made the sport my profession 15 years ago. At many spots like Egypt, Venezuela and Domenican Republic. In 2009 I took over the management of the kite school at Stickl Sportcamp until 2011. After a longer break for health reasons and an intermezzo in a sales job I came back to the Sportcamp in 2019 and since then I am again the "Capo" of the kite station.

My motto:OIS EASY!

Nick

Sailing and cat sailing

My name is Nick and I am the "northern light" in the team. I come from Stralsund sailing since early childhood. From the Opti to the 44 F-Yacht in the club and at regattas. Since 2016 I have been coaching kids in different boat classes. From 2016 to 2019 I had my first job at a sailing and surfing school as a water sports assistant and graduated as a licensed VDWS sailing and catamaran instructor and coach C license of the DOSB.
I joined the Stickl team in the summer of 2020 as a flexible trainer for everything from optics courses to sailing courses to Cat-F courses.
Sailing is my life!

Cat Sailing

Hi, I'm Chris, I'm from Potsdam and I'm studying in Berlin. I grew up on the Havel river, have always been a water rat and started sailing on a dinghy when I was twelve, then catamaran sailing a little later. My family has been holidaying in Val di Sogno for as long as I can remember. Of course, this is also where I first stood on a surfboard. Then came some cat courses at Stickl Sportcamp and finally the job as a beach service employee and assistant in cat sailing. So I slowly grew into a team and now work as a cat instructor since 2019,

Sailing and surfing

I'm Finja and I'm passionate about working at Stickl Sportcamp as a sailing instructor since 2017, alongside my medical studies.

I started sailing at the age of 6 in the Optimist and then switched to the 29er with a good friend. Here we have experienced together some adventures at various regattas and training camps.

At Stickl Sportcamp I discovered windsurfing for myself and got my windsurfing instructor in 2019. Since then, I've often been out with my equipment in the north of Germany and Denmark with friends and family.

Last year I finally started kitesurfing and am currently trying my first small jumps here.

I am looking forward to passing on my enthusiasm for water sports in the years to come.

Cat Sailing

Servus,

My name is Dominik, I am 21 years old, come from Munich and study in Passau in the 4th semester. When I was 6 years old, I had my first experience of steering and controlling a sailboat myself here at Stickl Sportcamp. 2 years later I started sailing catamarans. From Hobie Teddy in the children's course to Hobie 15, 16 and Pearl to Hobie Tiger as well as Wildcat in the perfection course, I have sailed all Cats and participated in all steps of the Cat training at the Sportcamp.

Since then, water sports on Lake Garda have been my top leisure activity and now also my holiday job. Since 2019 I am now in the coach team and teach cat sailing.

FLORI

Sailing

Since 2015 I am with Stickl Sportcamp and teach everything that has a hull. Started with Opti and Feva, in recent years mainly courses on the Dyas and Seascape 18.

In my spare time I sail a lot on big keelboats, I do SBF Binnen/See and Bodenseeeschifferpatent from time to time. Unfortunately, I no longer have so much time to sail due to my studies in recent years.

However, I have not forgotten the sporty sailing despite the leisurely cruising. In the youth I sailed actively regattas with the Opti and the Europe.

I am looking forward to surfing with you both sportily in strong winds with the Genacker and the Seascape with up to 15 knots over Lake Garda as well as in the beginners course in sunshine and light winds to teach you the beauty of sailing.

PS: as a child I made my first sailing experiences at Stickl Sportcamp.

Surfing and cat sailing

Hey, I'm Sonja, a sports student and a team member "on board" since 2018. You can find me more often on the surfboard than on the catamaran, even though I like sailing at least as much as surfing.
Even though I'm only 20 years old, I would already call myself a confirmed member of the Stickl Sportcamp, because I myself discovered my passion for sailing and surfing at the Lago and was in the kids surf course for the first time when I was 11 years old. In the team I'm a little chameleon, wherever I'm needed: Cat course, surf course, Opti course... I always like to be where it's loudest and where there's the most laughter: with the kids! Because: Where you don't have fun you can't learn anything!

Cat Sailing

My name is Clara, I am 23 years old and currently studying medicine in my 8th semester.

Like some other crew members, I grew up with Lake Garda and Stickl Sportcamp. I started sailing in the Opti. Very soon I had discovered the passion for catamaran sailing and for years I took courses at the Sportcamp and expanded my skills significantly. Since then, a year without sailing is unimaginable for me.

In addition, since I have been working at Lake Garda, I have found kiting for me.

Since 2016 I have been working at Stickl Sportcamp during my semester break and mainly teach catamaran and optics courses. I am already looking forward to new challenges in my next season and many great, new and familiar, course participants!

Foiling

Sailing is like breathing, it frees your soul, it keeps you alive. From an early age I sailed on my parents' boat. At the age of 11, I took over the helm myself on an Optimist. After a year I switched to the 420, and after a few years I started sailing internationally and was accepted into the Swiss sailing squad. In 2017, we won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Australia. After that, I started sailing with my sister. In 2018 we became Swiss champions, won the French championship and the Polish championship. The peak events were the European and World Championships respectively. We finished on the 420 in the summer of 2019 by participating in the Youth World Championship, where we finished 7th. For a year now I have been sailing on the Waszp and coaching the participants in the foiling courses at Stickl Sportcamp.
